All alleged child abuse, physical and sexual and neglect are investigated and children placed in a place of safety if necessary.

The Afrikaanse Christelike Vrouevereniging (ACVV) is a Christian women’s organisation which was established in 1904 and is one of the oldest welfare organisations in South Africa. 115 Branches in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and North West province are affiliated to the National Council with the Head office in Cape Town.
The ACVV is one of only a few designated child protection organisations (DCPO) in South Africa. In terms of the Children’s Act it means that the ACVV may render the full scope of child protection services, i.e. from prevention programs to statutory intervention.
